In the region first education was under the control of Multan board but then with time and space as the population increased these people were made to have a separate board that was named as Bahawalpur board and it is working as independent board. This board was separated in the year 1977 and in the year 1977 this board was having office in the Multan board but then in the year 1978 this board office was moved to the Bahawalpur and this board conducted its first supplementary examination in the year 1978. In the year 1979 this board office was moved to daulat khana.

This board conducts examination for oriental languages and in 1993 under Education Department of Government it also got responsibility for conducting examinations for OT/CT/PTC and Arts and Crafts. There are many government and private schools and colleges those are affiliated with the board. Board has main purpose to conduct examination for 5th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th class examination and make them learn thoroughly this board conduct examination of 5th and 8th class that is under the Punjab education commission and it was formed in the year 2005.

These examination those are called HSSC examination that is named as higher secondary school certificate that is HSSC examination consist of two parts first part is part I that is 11th class and part II is 12th class these examination are conducted in the month of April and May and many students appeared in examination now they are waiting for results. For the board first registration occurs that is in the month of February and then after registration these students are provided with roll number slips and date sheets that let them get known to the schedule before exams.
