In 1977 Bahawalpur division was separated from Multan by Government of Punjab not only this, but it also got sanction of Independent board as BISE Bahawalpur board. Initially in 1977 its office was established in Multan but in February 1978 it formed its office in Bahawalpur in hired building and in middle of 1978 first supplementary exams was held under Bahawalpur Board. In 1979 its office transferred to its own constructed office at Daulat Khana currently it’s on plot provided by revenue board. It holds examination of SSC and HSSC every year on pre-announced dates for Matric, Intermediate and Oriental Languages but in 1993 under Education Department of Government it also got responsibility for conducting examinations for OT/CT/PTC and Arts and Crafts.

Jurisdiction of Bahawalpur Board covers these districts controlling examination of SSC and HSSC every year Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and Rahim Yar Khan. Confirmed schedules are posted to educational affiliated institutions and also advertised in newspapers. Examination centres for candidates are set nearest to their residences. Future of nation is based on youth therefore Bahawalpur board works hard to set up an advanced educational system and until now it has progressed a lot.

Commencement of examination is 2 months before examinations start either of Matric part I and II or Intermediate part I and II with low fee structure. Text books are of Punjab Textbook Board with advanced learning and teaching system. Groups and Subjects at Matric and Intermediate level are Science, arts, Pre-Engineering, Pre-Medical, Computer Science, Commerce, General Science and Arts. It also provides student with Punjab Educational Endowment Funds (PEEF) scholarships to appreciate skills of students.
